How can I help you and your family?


I am a parent coach in Portland, Oregon and I would love to help you develop the best skills possible for parenting your young child. (ages 2-7) I offer practical, hands on coaching and consulting in your home to help you get your household to a place where you feel effective and positive in the interactions with your child(ren).


Many parents struggle with typical early childhood issues, such as being able to give their children effective time-outs, manage tantrums, set clear limits and boundaries, creating successful bedtime routines, socialization skills, as well as general household organization and structure. All of these behaviors are manageable with the right parenting tools, and I will help you develop them!

How Does It Work?

We will start with an initial phone consultation to see whether or not your needs and my coaching skills would be a good fit. If so, we will set up a meeting to talk about the areas that you are currently struggling with. Then I will schedule an observation time where I will come to your home, observe the behavioral patterns between you and your child/children, and gather information. This is a very important piece to the process, as it gives me a true understanding of the issues that you are dealing with, and I will see them in their natural environment.

The next step will be a follow up meeting where we sit down together and talk about my observations, your concerns, and the strategies and parenting tools that you will start to implement in your household. I will offer effective tips and strategies that you can use right away. This is the exciting part, because with new parenting tools comes change!

What's different about my style of coaching is that it's very interactive, (not just phone consultation) with me being available to model techniques and guiding you through interactions with your child.

There are thousands of parenting books, all with different ideas, strategies, and ideologies~ but it can become overwhelming to find the time to read through them all and pick the best practices. Let me help you fine tune the skills that you already have in the comfort of your own home, with what will work for your family.

What Are My Qualifications?

I have over 20 years of both professional and personal experience in working with young children and their parents in clinical, school, and home settings. I am also the parent of twin boys who are 6 years old, who teach me new things everyday!

I have my Master's Degree in Teaching, as well as a Bachelor's Degree in Human Services/Social Work.

I live in Portland, Oregon with my husband Dan and twin boys, Christopher and Nathan.

How much will this specialized service cost?

The initial phone conversation is at no charge. Let's talk and see if the services that I am offering are what you're looking for.

Then, their will be 3 critial components that we will complete:

* Information gathering meeting (approx. 1 hour),

* Household/family observation (2-3 hours),

* A debriefing meeting where we come back together to talk about my observations, and present strategies for you to implement. (1-2 hours) The fee for all of this is $300.00

Once we have an action plan in place to implement changes in your household, I will come back and model interactions and coach you with these new techniques. The hourly fee for coaching or follow up meetings is $60.00 per hour.
